Recently, the 8th International Conference on Aerospace System Science and Engineering (ICASSE) was successfully held in Zhengzhou, Henan. The conference was organized and hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, with strong support from Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics. It also received co-sponsorship from institutions such as the Moscow Aviation Institute, the University of Toronto, and the COMAC Civil Aircraft Flight Test Center, among others.
During the opening ceremony, Professor Liu Daijun, Party Secretary and President of Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics, delivered a warm welcome speech as the conference chair. Professor Zhan Xingqun, Vice Dean of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics at Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Chairman of the Organizing Committee, gave the opening remarks. The event was also graced by notable guests, including He Xiong, Mayor of Zhengzhou, Zhang Rui, Director of the Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Wang Huaxing, Director of the Office of Foreign Cooperation and Exchange of the Henan Provincial Department of Education, and Zhang Juwei, Vice President of Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Cheng Jiaojie, Vice President of Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics.
With the theme "Innovative Aerospace Concepts and Technologies," this year's ICASSE explored cutting-edge research in aerospace systems, emphasizing the unique appeal of aerospace, space, and information systems engineering. The conference encouraged interdisciplinary innovations in the fields of space, aviation, and near-space vehicles. During the event, two keynote speeches, ten invited talks, and fifty-two oral presentations were delivered, covering a wide range of topics with deep insights. Among the speakers were twelve leading experts, including two overseas academicians and two Fellows of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), who presented remarkable keynote and invited talks. Scholars from renowned Chinese universities, such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Zhengzhou University, shared their latest research findings.
To inspire young scholars to strive for academic excellence, the conference presented the "Best Paper Award" and "Best Paper Nomination Award," with three recipients for each category. The award winners were announced by Professor Zhu Zhenghong, Chairman of the Program Committee, Academician of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and Professor at York University. The certificates of honor were presented by Zhang Juwei, Vice President of Zhengzhou University of Aeronautics.
